Heat shrink (also known as heat shrink tubing) is plastic tube that shrinks and can be used to insulate wires, offering abrasion resistance as well as environmental safety for terminals, solid wire conductors, joints as well as connections in diversified electrical applications.
A heat shrink tubing can also be used for:
- Identification — color coding is used to make identification simpler
- It is also used as an insulator and is used for insulation against over-heating in vehicles, aircrafts and boats
